One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is that no two weddings are the same. Every one is just a little, if not a lot, different than the last.
It’s so fun for me to be able to capture all these different days for different people, who have different styles and stories. I love photographing all the perfect details for their days and telling their stories in photo form. But sometimes I get a little selfish and want to make some of those creative calls myself!
Enter, the styled shoot. Early this spring, I had the idea to put together a styled shoot with a few amazing vendors…just for fun! I think weddings will always be my favorite things to shoot, but there’s something really creatively exciting about shooting exactly what I want to shoot, on my own timeline. It’s kind of refreshing!
We designed this styled shoot thinking this is what it could look like if a totally in love couple eloped one weekend and then headed out of town for a little camping trip to celebrate their new marriage. No big ball gowns, no tuxes or vests. Just some champagne, a picnic (with cake!) and a really cute, teal camper. ‘Nothing fancy, just love’ – I LOVE THAT.
I hope you enjoy this styled elopement as much as we enjoyed creating it! A huge huge thank you to all the vendors who made this possible. Truly, I worked with some of the absolute best in the industry and I basically have to pinch myself that when I reached out to them about this, all their answers were a resounding, ‘YES!’ Pretty cool, my friends.
Enjoy!
