This is a sponsored post as part of my partnership with Basic Invite. I received compensation in exchange for writing this review, but all opinions are my own.
I am lucky enough to get to work with brides who put a lot of time and energy into planning beautiful wedding days. Whether they are amazing DIY’ers or are pros at finding all the right pros, they’re ready to pull out all the stops to make sure their weddings are gorgeous. I’m so lucky to get to capture them!
A detail that’s often overlooked by brides is one of the first things you have to think about: the invitations! The wedding invitations have the potential to really set the tone for your wedding day.
Are you planning an elegant affair?
Or maybe a fun, whimsical wedding weekend?
Maybe you want your guests to understand the vibe is casual and fun.
Or maybe your day will be a bit more traditional.
Whatever the tone for your wedding day, your wedding invitations are a great way to set the stage. I was recently introduced to Basic Invite, a website that lets you create super cool wedding invitations that can be totally custom to your wedding day. It’s crazy easy to use and there are endless options of invitations and invitation suites!
Now, I know there are a lot of places to get invitations online, but I’ve been really impressed with Basic Invite and I wanted to share with you why.
Options! – Seriously, the first time I looked at the Basic Invite website to see if it would be a good fit to refer brides too, I was kind of blown away by all the adorable, elegant, cool, modern, traditional…you get the picture…wedding invitations they offered. I’m pretty picky about paper goods (because let’s be real…they have to be pretty enough to photograph!) and I found so many beautiful invitations that I’d be giddy to get in front of my camera.
Almost Unlimited Colors – Ugh, this seriously made my day. Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows almost unlimited color options with instant previews online. YES YOU HEARD THAT RIGHT! This means that you won’t find your perfect invitation design, only to find out soon after that it only comes in purple and green…neither of which are your wedding colors. Customization is important when you’re trying to make sure every detail is just right, and Basic Invite just gets it.
Once you select your perfect design, you can change the color of each element on the card to over 180 different colors so you can make sure the card is exactly how you want it down to the littlest detail. This is a game changer, folks.
Custom Samples – Basic Invite allows you the ability to order a printed sample of their actual invitation so you can see exactly how it will print as well as the paper quality, before you ever have to place your final order. How many times have you started placing an order on an invitation site, only to stop because you’re overwhelmed with options that you have no context of? How are you supposed to know if glossy or matte paper is best for your invitation if you’ve never seen and touched them both? Basic Invite solves that problem.
Over 40 Different Colors of Envelopes – This makes me a little giddy. (Are you sensing a theme here?) Basic Invite is just as colorful with their envelopes as they are with their invitations. When I got married, I was set on having sunny yellow envelopes that perfectly matched my invitations and set a happy, vibrant tone for my wedding day. And surprisingly, a specific envelope color is pretty hard to find!
Basic Invite has over 40 different colors for envelopes, which means that your invitation stands out from the second a guest opens their mailbox. It may seem like a little detail–and it is!–but these little details make all the difference!
Free Address Collection Service – I’m all about working smarter, not harder. Even if you are the best DIY’er who ever DIY’d, it’s important to know what you can do yourself, and what you need help for. I was lucky when I got married – my mom kept a meticulous address book that I was able to use to put together our mailing list. But I’ve helped recently engaged friends or clients who aren’t so lucky!
Basic Invite solves this problem by offering a free, easy address collection service to request your addresses with just three simple steps. Share a link, collect addresses, and get free envelope printing. Bada-bing, bada-boom.
I love all the options for full invitation suites on Basic Invite, but my love doesn’t stop there. They also have awesome Save the Dates, for those of you with a longer engagement wanting to make sure your guests are in the know. And they offer wedding guest books – so much more fun than the book you pick up at Hallmark! These are custom to you and your love, and I love that!
They also have a whole section of bridal shower invites! I love this because you never want your best girls to be stressing about things like shower invitations. This makes it so easy (and still super cute).
I highly recommend Basic Invite if you’re wanting wedding invitations that start to get your guests excited for your big day.
Bonus wedding day tip: I always have my brides set aside their invitation suite for when I shoot the details on the wedding day. It’s a great way to pull in details and is a great photo addition to your wedding album!
