Amy first got in touch with me in late 2018 as a newly engaged bride-to-be looking for a local photographer for engagement photos. Amy was actually a bridesmaid in a wedding I shot earlier that year, and while at the time she was living in my hometown, she was from Texas and planning a wedding there.
I assumed Amy had already found a Texas photographer for her wedding, but figured it wouldn’t hurt to mention that I was available for destination weddings, depending on her date. I’m SO glad I said something, because this last weekend Jeff and I had the immense pleasure of photographing Amy and Braeden’s classic country Texas wedding in New Braunfels, Texas!
Everything about this day was an absolute dream. Amy and Braedon had a longer engagement to make sure all of the vendors they wanted could be there, and that level of detail made the day truly spectacular. The food was incredible (guests enjoyed a cocktail hour complete with a quesadilla bar), the entertainment amazing (the DJ serenaded the room during dinner), the planning and coordinating top-notch (if anything didn’t go according to plan, it was handled before the bride and groom even knew something was up), and the venue out of this world (honestly, I’ve never seen anything like it).
While the entire day was thoughtfully and beautifully planned, Amy and Braedon could not have been more laid back. They truly enjoyed every minute of their day, surrounded by all the people they love most. The couple skipped a typical wedding party and instead had their brothers stand up with them during the ceremony. The entire day seemed to revolve around all the important things, and it was so perfect for these two.
If I could go back and do this day over again just for the fun of it, I totally would. Not to mention, I got to work alongside one of my favorite second shooters – my husband! Some of my favorite photos in this post are his, and I’m a little proud 😉
Amy and Braedon, we cannot thank you enough for letting us capture your day. You two are an amazing match and I’m so happy to see you start your lives together.
And if anyone ever needs a photographer or two at a Texas wedding–hit me up! 😉
