Amy and Elliot got married on a gorgeous day in August, surrounded by tons of friends and family. The day started bright and early with Amy and her bridesmaids at Prestige Salon in Mitchell, where the girls got ready while sipping mimosas – probably one of my favorite wedding day traditions!
Amy looked absolutely stunning even before a stitch of makeup was put on, so I couldn’t wait to see her all dolled up!
Amy had a gorgeous custom hanger for dress shots and showed off her new name: Mrs. Nelson. So cute! I love these little details.
Amy’s dress was a beautiful full ballgown with a intricately covered buttons and a thin, sparkly belt.
I love the few moments with the groom before the first time he sees his bride on their wedding day. You can tell that the nerves and excitement are so high!
And then, it’s this moment: the first time they see each other on the wedding day. The nerves of the morning totally melt away and they’re just left feeling total joy. You can’t beat that moment. It’s my absolute favorite.
Amy and Elliot incorporated love letters into their ceremony, but they shared them with each other before their guests arrived. It was so special and sweet!
I loved all the pink and navy colors of their wedding party! They had a good looking group.
I love the above shot! It’s such a cute, candid moment, and actually captured by my sister and second shooter. She does such a great job. I love working with another photographer to get moments like this!
It’s so neat to see what all my couples do for the unity ceremony. Amy and Elliot had a gorgeous, custom two-piece wood cross. One piece fit inside of the other, and they put them together during the ceremony. I hope I get to see more of these in the coming years because it was really cool!
These two walked out of the church to a sea of bubbles and it was so pretty to watch!
This darling ring bearer did not want his photo taken, but we got a couple sweet shots of him!
Amy and Elliot treated their wedding party to a party bus between the ceremony and reception and they all had a blast. We stopped at a couple bars for celebratory shots and drinks for the happy couple!
Selfies and champagne chugging? Best. Couple. Ever.
The Nelson nuptial reception was at the Highland Conference Center and it looked beautiful! The couple made a fun entrance and went right into their first dance.
I don’t mean to speak for everyone, but I know of a few people who got a little teary during Jordan’s best man speech…myself included. Elliot and Jordan’s friendship is the best.
Cheers!
Amy and Elliot, I can’t thank you enough for letting me be part of your day. I am always happy to have made friends with my couples after their weddings, but it’s truly an honor to be chosen by your friends to be their wedding photographer. I was so happy to spend the day with you and wish you a lifetime of happiness!
