When I first read Lolly’s Home Kitchen’s mission statement, I knew this brand session was going to be a good one: “We help stressed-out women find joy and a sense of purpose by teaching them to put their hands to work in creating something beautiful, delicious, and that creates true impact on the world.”
Our goal with this branding session was to reflect that mission statement in the photos. I wanted to do this by creating fun, playful visual imagery to connect with Lolly’s ideal brand character, and create cohesive recognition across all parts of her brand.
Often times for brand sessions, we’ll rent a private home or Airbnb for the session. In this case, Lauren had a beautiful home that we were able to use. It was so nice shooting in her own kitchen; everything we needed was right there. The session focused heavily on kitchen shots to show Lauren working behind the scenes and in the kitchen, working on cookies.
We also pulled in Lauren’s family for some of the shots. Often times, when my clients are building personal brands, it makes sense to feature family members in some of the shots. After all, family is a big part of why we do what you do! Lauren’s husband works in her business as CFO, and her kids are constantly helping her in the kitchen, and a big source of her inspiration for starting the business. We had to include them!
