I’m SO EXCITED to show you all this session because it means something super duper big…
I’m now offering studio sessions!
Wahoo! I’m so excited to tell everyone that I’m officially renting a studio in downtown Sioux Falls and booking sessions there beginning immediately. This means more flexibility to take sessions when it’s freeeeeezing outside (hello, 9 months out of the year in good ol’ SoDak), or just otherwise not super favorable conditions for photo-taking.
I’ll mainly be booking babies (including newborns), children and families in the studio, but I’m excited to also have the option for seniors who may want something a bit more formal…or perhaps a glam mini session in a prom dress? Eh eh? The possibilities are endless!
BUT enough about me. Let’s talk about this seriously awesome family. You guys. I love them. I’ve known Libby since for-ev-er because she used to babysit my sister and I when we were young hooligans and, I am sure, ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTFUL to hang out with for hours on end. Hardee har har. Perhaps not.
Honest to Cher, some of my favorite memories growing up include Libby. She was the coolest. I remember feeling like the cat’s meow during a Y2K New Year’s Eve party at her house. I think Libby was in high school, and my family all went because our parents are buds. BUT the cool part was that Libby had a bunch of her high school friends over and my sister and I got to hang out with them. I’m sure the high schoolers really enjoyed that…but seriously, BEST NEW YEARS OF MY LIFE.
My sister and I spent so many summers hanging with Lib playing Spyro the Dragon on Playstation (the greatest), going to the pool, and watching soap operas I didn’t quite understand. She’d make up games and turn our swing set into a pirate ship, and she put up with the year that we decided we needed to watch The Parent Trap on VHS 37,000 times.
Needless to say, it’s less than a surprise to me that she’s become an amazing mom. It’s SO fun to watch her with her little Ollie, and see how both Libby and her husband Mike’s personalities are already shining through him…and he’s becoming his own little person, too!
Ollie just turned 6 months old, and he’s already a little ham! I kind of fell in love with the dude. He was so smiley and fun, and he was totally chill whether sitting up, laying down, or spending time on his tummy. Ugh. Six months is my favorite. Or maybe Oliver is my favorite. Hm…
Since Valentine’s Day is coming up, and I went a little crazy in the V-day section of Hobby Lobby, we set Ollie up with a couple Valentine’s props.
I think he liked it.
Libby and Mike had great outfits for Oliver, but there’s something about a chunky baby in nothing but a diaper that I just love. Photos like this are totally timeless. Plus, 6 months is that magic age where babies are just perfectly photogenic. Ollie loved grabbing his toes and looking over at me while I was shooting. He was totally chill. AH! I just love him.
Mr. Oliver, you are the cutest little boy I’ve ever had in my studio…never mind that you’re the first 😉 I can’t wait to watch you grow!
Congrats on the studio!! You are a talent and an inspiration!! Good luck!
Thank you so much, Ang! Exciting times ahead!
